Our students participated in Young Scientists Project competition which was held in Dar es Salaam from 30/07/2019 to 01/08/2019. Students from different schools participate in this project competition. As the name suggests, students with projects that have a potential to solve problems or improve the quality of living in the society have the opportunity of presenting what they have. These projects can be Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mathematics and technology in general.
Our school was represented by a team of 4 students were working on a biotechnological project with a title ANALYSIS OF ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY OF GINGER. The intent of this project is to prepare medicines to treat respiratory tract infections.
The team did put serious efforts in this project. They visited the ZFDA microbiology laboratory to learn how to subculture bacteria before visiting MNAZI MMOJA HOSPITAL for susceptibility test.
The effort paid off, our students won one of the four Gold Trophies. We would like to congratulate everyone who was involved in the project from the first day of preparation. We believe that projects like these may help students to become active members of the society and help solve different problems.
We wish our students all the best in the upcoming competitions.
